Bond Measure D

In March 2024, the residents of Moraga approved Measure D, a $52 million bond initiative aimed at enhancing the quality and safety of local elementary and middle schools. The measure received 67.4% voter approval, surpassing the 55% threshold required for passage.
The primary objectives of Measure D include:
- Upgrading Educational Facilities: Modernizing science, technology, engineering, art, and music classrooms and laboratories to provide students with state-of-the-art learning environments.
- Improving Infrastructure: Replacing aging roofs and unsafe windows, repairing deteriorating plumbing and electrical systems, and enhancing drainage to prevent water damage.
- Enhancing Safety and Accessibility: Installing advanced security systems, upgrading facilities to meet current health and safety codes, and ensuring compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).
- Expanding and Renovating Facilities: Constructing additional restrooms, creating multi-use rooms and wellness centers, and developing indoor and outdoor eating areas to accommodate growing student needs.
To ensure fiscal responsibility, Measure D mandates the establishment of an independent citizens' oversight committee, annual audits, and stipulates that no funds will be allocated for administrator salaries.
