Service Learning
As a district, we believe in nurturing academic excellence and the importance of giving back to our community. Our Service Learning Initiative is designed to foster a sense of civic responsibility and empower our students to make a positive impact on the world around them.

What is
SERVICE LEARNING?
Service Learning is an educational approach that integrates meaningful community service with classroom instruction. It's an experiential way for students to apply what they're learning in the classroom to real-world issues, all while contributing to their local and global communities.
Our Service Learning Initiative is a collaborative effort between our dedicated Service Learning Liaison, the active involvement of our school PTAs and the hard work of our teaching staff and leadership.

how to get involved!
We invite students, parents, teachers, and community members to get involved in our Service Learning Initiative. Together, we can make a positive difference in our community and the world.
- Bookmark our Service Calendar to keep up to date on your school’s service learning projects as well as our district-wide service opportunities.
- Connect us with an organization you’re passionate about. Fill out the service learning organization form or simply contact our Service Learning Liaison, Jessica Gorelik, at jgorelik@moraga.k12.ca.us. We look forward to working together to inspire a new generation of compassionate and engaged citizens!
- Volunteer at a district service day. Commit to a service learning role with your PTA. Reach out to your room parents to see how you can support service learning in your child’s classroom. As parents, we have an opportunity to not only make a difference in our community but model the act of service for our children.
