Meeting agendas are publicly posted 72 hours prior to the meeting date.  Regular meetings will begin at 6:00 PM and are typically scheduled on the second Tuesday of the month and held at Joaquin Moraga Intermediate School, 1010 Camino Pablo, Moraga, CA 94556
 
Governing Board Meetings scheduled for the 2024-2025 school year are:   August 13,  September 10, October 8, November 12, December 10 & 17, January 14, February 11, March 11, April 15, May 13, June 3, and 10.

PUBLIC COMMENT
Individuals wishing to make a public comment must attend the meeting in person and complete a Comment Card before the agenda item has been introduced.  Agenda items will be discussed in the order approved at the meeting. Once the discussion of an agenda item has been completed, the Board will not reopen the discussion on that topic later.

Martha White - Board  President - Term Expires December 2026 
 
Martha was elected to the Moraga School Board in November 2022. She grew up in Orinda and attended Orinda schools, including Miramonte High School. She has a B.A. in Political Science from UC Davis. 

Martha has been an active volunteer in the Moraga Schools since her son started in kindergarten at Los Perales Elementary. For the last 12 years, Martha has worked in the educational field, first as the assistant secretary at Camino Pablo Elementary and currently managing the Biology, Chemistry, EES, and Biochemistry departments at Saint Mary’s College of California. She is passionate about equal education for all and special education at all levels of learning.

She and her husband Michael have lived in Moraga since 2002 with their 4 children who have all attended Moraga schools, Los Perales, Joaquin Moraga, and Campolindo High School. 
Kristin Kraetsch - Board Vice President - Term Expires December 2026 
 
Kristin is a labor and employment attorney working at a San Francisco-based company.  She came to California after graduating from Washington University School of Law in St. Louis, where she met her husband, Neil.  Originally from southeastern Massachusetts, California's sunny shores summoned her to leave behind the snowy winters and she loves living in the semi-rural Moraga community.  Kristin and Neil have two boys, ages 7 and 4.  Their older son attends Los Perales Elementary School, where Kristin is active in the PTA; their younger son will begin kindergarten in 2024.  Kristin also enjoys engaging in various pro bono activities in her legal capacity, where she has served as a board member for San Francisco Suicide Prevention Agency, and represented clients in domestic relations cases and youth seeking refuge in the U.S. under federal immigration law. 
Larry Jacobs - Board Member - Term Expires December 2026
 
Larry has worked in residential real estate sales for the last 18 years in Lamorinda and the previous 12 years in industrial operations management in Oakland and Berkeley. Larry was born in Moraga and is a product of the Moraga School system, where he attended all 13 years of schooling. He has a BA in biology/ecology from UC Berkeley and an MBA from St. Mary’s College.
 
He has deep ties to the community. He currently serves as president of the Contra Costa JCC and is a member of the Moraga Valley Kiwanis. He is a past board member of the industrial arts educational organization The Crucible in West Oakland, and past board VP of the Sanders Ranch HOA. 
 
Larry was appointed to the Moraga School Board in November 2020 and was elected in 2022. Prior to joining the board, Larry had served as the chair of the Citizens Bond Oversight Committee from 2017-2020, the "Yes on Measure V Committee," the Camino Pablo and Joaquin Moraga School Site Councils, the MSD Coordinating Council, the Campolindo School Advisory Council, and was the parliamentarian and legislative rep for the JM PTA.
 
He and his Wife Alexia have lived in Moraga since 2003 with their two children who both attended Camino Pablo, Joaquin Moraga Intermediate, and Campolindo High School. 
Stephanie Stoan - Board Member - Term Expires December 2028
 
Stephanie was elected to the MSD Governing board in 2024.  She was raised in the Mid-West and has lived in Moraga since 2010.  She has two children supported by the local schools.  She holds a Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Duke University, is an adjunct professor at Samuel Merritt University, and is a small business owner, serving the local community with physical therapy services.
 
Stephanie has held leadership roles on numerous community and school district boards and committees, including the LP PTA Board, MEF Board, and MSD Safety Committee.  She has been a member of both Moraga Juniors and Moraga Rotary.  She is passionate about the safety of both children and adults and has advocated for safety causes in our local schools and community.  She also believes that all children should be included and receive equal access to education.  In her free time, she enjoys yoga, weightlifting, hiking, and spending time with family and friends.
Lee Hays - Board Member - Term Expires December 2028
 
Lee has worked as a construction industry executive for the past 20 years, following his service in the U.S. Army. He holds both his undergraduate degree and MBA from UC Davis.
 
He has deep ties to the community through his extensive volunteer work. He currently serves on the Moraga School Board and is an active member of Kiwanis. He has served as Assistant Scoutmaster for Troop 212, where his son Jack earned his Eagle Scout rank. His previous community service includes positions on the Moraga Design Review Board and Planning Commission.
 
Lee was elected to the Moraga School Board in 2024 where he brings valuable construction management expertise to oversee the recently approved bond measure. His commitment to youth development includes years of coaching youth sports and mentoring scouts.
 
Lee has lived in Moraga for 24 years with his three children who attended Camino Pablo Elementary and Joaquin Moraga Intermediate schools. In his free time, he enjoys hiking local trails, taking on home improvement projects, and skiing.
